Tumalo Falls is a stunning 97 foot waterfall just 13 miles from Bend, OR! It's a perfect spot for a hike or a simple picnic.
Most of the drive is easy, with the last 3 miles on a dirt road (no AWD required!) that is inaccessible during winter. There is parking near the falls—you will need a day pass to park
The parking lot fills up VERY fast especially on summer weekends! Be sure to get there early since the lot is pretty small.
There are a few hiking options and vantage points for experiencing the falls. The Lower Viewpoint is only a short walk from the parking lot!
A two mile (round trip) hike along the North Fork Trail will let you see the upper viewpoint as well as another waterfall—Double Falls!
For a longer, moderate hike you can do the full 6.8 mile Tumalo Falls Loop, where you'll be able to see a few more small waterfalls.
