Find the perfect gift for the outdoor-loving woman in your life! We’ve collected the best gift ideas for outdoorsy women that will get her excited for her next trip outdoors.
If there’s an outdoorsy woman in your life—the type that would rather hit the trail than the nail salon or jump in an alpine lake instead of lay on the beach at a resort—then this outdoor gift guide is for you!
As an outdoors-loving gal myself, I’ve put this list together to help you find the perfect gift that she will be excited to receive. This gift guide has everything from stylish yet functional outdoor clothing, hiking gear, camping equipment, road trip essentials, gadgets, and games.
In Partnership with REI
REI is our favorite place to buy gifts for outdoorsy people on our lists. In the event we get a color or a size wrong, REI makes it SO easy for the recipient to return or exchange it for the correct item. With free shipping on orders over $50, we also love that we get to skip the in-store holiday melee and shop from the comfort of our couch (be away, the last day for guaranteed shipping at REI is Dec. 17th!).
Perfect for adding extra warmth while hiking, backpacking, or skiing, Smartwool base layers are moisture-wicking, comfy (no itchy wool here!), and slim-fitted enough to wear under other clothes without feeling restrictive.
This durable Deuter daypack is perfect for women who enjoy hiking! The main compartment has plenty of room for extra layers, snacks, and a hydration reservoir, a structured hip belt (with pockets!) helps carry the load, and the ventilated back panel helps with breathability.
I received a Pendleton blanket a few years back and it has accompanied me on many camping trips since. The Yakima Camp Blanket is made from a wool-cotton blend, so it carries the warmth of wool while still feeling soft.
The Aeropress Travel Press is an ideal gift for a coffee lover on the go! Aeropress took its classic coffee maker design and remade it to fit into a compact, travel/hiking/camping friendly package—it all fits together into a cup with a lid (that also stores the filters!).
If you’re wondering “Does she really need another pair of leggings?” let me tell you, the answer is probably yes! The Becksa leggings from are prAna are perfect for everything from yoga to hiking, offer UPF 50+ sun protection, and are Fair Trade Certified.
Help keep her feet happy with a pair of wool hiking socks! There are a ton of options, but FITS and Darn Tough(pictured) are our recommended brands. FITS are the most comfortable, but Darn Tough has an awesome lifetime guarantee (and yes, we’ve tested it out a few times!)
A dehydrator would be an awesome gift for anyone who is interested in making their own backpacking/camping food, jerkies, and fruit leathers. This one from COSORI is made of stainless steel and is SO quiet. Of all the dehydrators we’ve tried, this one is my favorite!
The Nomadix quick drying towels are great to have on camping trips, or to roll up and carry on a hike in case there is a lake to jump into! We love that these towels are made of recycled water bottles, and they come in a bunch of fun National Parks designs.
Insulated Wine Glasses
This is a fun gift for the wine (or cocktail!) lover. These insulated wine glasses will keep her drink cold, and are non-breakable, so they are great for tossing into a backpack or camping gear box. Yeti and Hydro Flask both make great options, and Hydro Flask also makes an insulated wine bottle to complete the set.
Polarized sunglasses are a must for anyone who spends a lot of time in the sun. These Sunski polarized sunglasses made from recycled plastic are stylish, durable, and backed by a lifetime warranty so she’ll never have to worry about bringing them on any adventure!
This hoodie is absolutely AMAZING. The buttery soft, moisture-wicking, breathable fabric is a dream to wear (I’ve basically lived in it since buying this). This pullover is a perfect mid-layer for shoulder-season day hikes.
If you have a new mom or a mom-to-be on your gift list, help them stay outdoors and active with the Kid Comfort Active Child Carrier. This top-of-the-line child carrier is designed for the comfort and safety of both the child and hiker. It comes in a women’s specific fit (pictured) and a unisex option with an easily adjustable torso length so that she can share the load!
Long days playing outside can leave skin feeling wrecked, so Ursa Major’s natural, plant-based skin products would be a welcomed gift to any outdoorsy gal! Their Golden Hour Recovery Cream is great for rehydrating dry skin, or their 4-1 Essential Face Wipes(pictured) are perfect for stashing in daypacks or gym bags for a face refresh after a hike or bike ride.
On short excursions where a full daypack isn’t needed, this Trail 2 Waistpack is great for storing keys, a wallet, snacks, and other small essentials. It comes in a few different fun patterns and in solid colors as well.
The Fuego Down Vest from Cotopaxi is made with 800 fill RDS water-resistant down and has a DWR coating so it’s a great layer for all sorts of cool weather adventures. I love the fun color blocking, too!
Vouri’s Clementine shorts are my personal favorites for hiking, running, and water sports because they are lightweight and super quick to dry. They also come in a longer, 4” inseam size. These would be a great addition to any outdoorsy woman’s closet.
I didn’t even know this was missing from my camping gear until researching this gift guide! This heated sleeping bag liner claims to add 20F to your sleeping bag and heats via 12v or USB battery. I haven’t tried it personally, but it seems like a cozy idea for women who enjoy camping but sleep on the cold side.
Products can be nice, but meaningful experiences will last a lifetime. Give the gift of an entire year of adventure that she’ll remember for years to come with the America the Beautiful (National Parks) Pass. Just one pass gets you into every National Park & Monument, as well as National Forests, Grasslands, and plenty of other recreation sites across the country.
