Recipe Ratings & Comments

We love hearing feedback on our recipes! Hearing your personal experience helps us and our community understand what worked well and what could potentially be improved.

We do not modify recipe ratings. Comments and/or ratings may be removed in certain circumstances:

  • It is apparent that the rating is not based on the commenter actually having made the recipe. For example:
    • “This looks great and I can’t wait to try it! 5 stars ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️”
    • “I didn’t know this was vegetarian when I clicked the link. 1 star ⭐️”
  • The rating is based on the commenter having made substantial changes to the recipe. For example:
    • “Tried this and I advise you use less apple cider vinegar as you still get strong taste of vinegar in the pancakes.” — in a recipe that does not call for any apple cider vinegar…

You may notice that some recipes have many ratings but not many comments. Prior to 3/2024, our recipe plugin allowed users to leave a rating without commenting. As of 3/2024, we require all ratings to be accompanied by a comment in an effort to make the ratings more helpful for readers.

Comment Guidelines

Comments are welcomed on this site, but there are some instances where comments will be edited or deleted as follows:

  • Comments deemed to be spam or solely promotional in nature will be deleted. Including a link to relevant content is permitted, but comments should be relevant to the post topic.
  • Comments containing profanity or crude language.
  • Comments containing language or concepts that could be deemed offensive will be deleted. Note this may include abusive, threatening, pornographic, offensive, misleading or libelous language, name calling, and hateful language.
  • Comments that bully, harass, or attack the author or other posters will be deleted. Please be respectful toward other contributors.
  • Comments that are violations of copyright laws.

We reserve the right to edit or delete any comments submitted to the blog without notice.

Use of Comments

Leaving a comment on our site gives us the right to use the comment in places beyond the comment section, such as in our blog posts, newsletters, or on social media.

We do our best to respond to questions in the comments, but please understand that we may not be able to answer every question. Checking existing comments may provide the answer you’re looking for.
