This Apple Crisp Foil Packet is the ultimate no-fuss campfire dessert: just apples, oats, brown sugar, butter, and cinnamon wrapped up in foil and cooked until warm and bubbly
Ingredients
2applescored and sliced (Honeycrisp, Gala, or Granny Smith are all great)
½cuprolled oats
½cupbrown sugar
4tbspbuttervery soft or melted
1tspground cinnamon
¼tspsalt
Optional: A handful of chopped nuts like pecans or walnuts.
Instructions
Tear off four sheets of heavy-duty foil (about 12" x 12"). Lightly oil or spray the center, or use parchment paper to line.
Divide sliced apples evenly between two foil sheets.

In a bowl, mix oats, brown sugar, butter, cinnamon, and salt until crumbly. It should clump together when pressed.
½ cup rolled oats, ½ cup brown sugar, 4 tbsp butter, 1 tsp ground cinnamon, ¼ tsp salt
Sprinkle half the topping over each portion of apples.
Place the remaining two sheets foil over apples and crimp tightly to seal.
Place packets directly on medium campfire coals or grill over medium heat. Cook 15–20 minutes, until apples are tender and topping is golden and caramelized.
Carefully open packets (watch for steam!) and serve as is, or top with whipped cream.
Notes
Make-ahead: You can prep the oat topping at home and store it in a zip-top bag. Assemble with apples at camp right before cooking.
