Savory bacon and slightly crisp shredded Brussels sprouts, this three-ingredient dish is one of the easiest (and most satisfying!) side dishes you'll ever make.
Ingredients
4slicesbacon
1poundBrussels sprouts
½onion
1teaspoonsea salt
Instructions
Prep your ingredients: Cut the tough ends off the Brussels sprouts and thinly slice them with a sharp knife. Cut the onion into quarters and then slice into quarter-moons. Chop the bacon into small ¼"-½" pieces.
Place the bacon in a skillet over medium heat. Cook, stirring occasionally, until the bacon has rendered out its fat and crisped up, 5-7 minutes. Remove from the skillet using a slotted spoon or spatula and place them on a paper-towel lined plate.
Add the onions to the skillet and cook until begining to soften and turn translucent, 2-3 minutes.
Add the Brussels sprouts to the onions and saute about 10 minutes, until they are starting to brown and crisp in spots.
Return the bacon to the skillet and toss with the Brussels sprouts to re-warm. Check for seasoning and add the salt if needed. Remove from the heat and serve.
